The Final Verdict:
I’ve heard nothing but great things about Moroccanoil, and I have to agree. The idea of putting something with ‘oil’ on my hair frightened me, but I was thoroughly impressed. You know how I stick to my tried and true haircare, well I’ve finally found something else that works wonders for me too! Harlem shake.
Everyone else I’ve spoken too reports a softness to their hair afterwards and I found this had the same effect on my hair. It was incredibly soft and tangle free. And get this… I actually BLOW DRIED it with great results. I know right? Crazy! I’d say this compared brilliantly to my usual anti-frizz/smoothing serum. I would definitely consider Moroccanoil as a substitute. It made my hair humidity proof, and manageable.
For those who are scared of the ‘oil’ part, don’t be. It’s not like your dipping your head into the deep fryer at all. Leave that to your Mum’s cooking, ya’ll. Think of it as more of a smooth serum. I applied it generously to clean, wet hair, in layers (because it’s so thick) and blow dried it. It worked like a dream.
I have a good friend who’s hair is wavier and thinner than mine. She loves Moroccanoil, and tried the regular formula in hopes it would weigh her hair down. Sadly for her it didn’t weigh it down at all, but the good news for everyone else is it means it’s not a product that will build up easily and create dull flat hair. On the contrary, I actually found when I used it and blow dried my hair I had beautiful volume.
I tried it on myself, my husband and my children and each had beautiful results with our different hair types. I would give it 10/10, and would definitely buy it again.
