I’m really excited to bring you some lipsticks I’ve been waiting to review for a few weeks now, Avon’s newest release here in Australia, Ultra Color Rich Brilliance Lipsticks. I’ve found more than a few favorites in their ten shades. Click to view my Mega Avon lipstick swatch review, now with 75 colours.
Note: I captured colours best as possible but they differ depending on lighting and/or flash.
Finish: Opaque-sheer, creamy
Shine: pearl, ranging from subtle to full
Wear: not long-lasting
Range: 10 shades (Australia)
Packaging: pink metal/shine
Above: [1] Midnight Gleam, [2] Gilded Velvet, [3] Aurora Rose, [4] Sparkling Sable, [5] Sienna Sparkle, [6] Berry Glitz, [7] Pink Paparazzi, [8] Brilliant Ruby, [9] Rogue Luxury, [10] Crimson Twilight.

I picked up five full-sized lipsticks, and all ten sample shades from the range to review for you all. I had a bit of a face-palm moment, I originally tested the samples when I first got them, and made full notes on each colour for the review. When the time came to finish the post I couldn’t remember for the life me which notebook I wrote it in. Ha ha. Lesson learned. Stick with your technology Kaye.
I painstakingly went through them all again, just for you lovely readers! Enjoy!
Above: [1] Brilliant Ruby, [2] Rogue Luxury, [3] Crimson Twilight, [4] Pink Paparazzi, [5] Berry Glitz, [6] Sienna Sparkle, [7] Aurora Rose, [8] Gilded Velvet, [9] Sparkling Sable [10] Midnight Gleam.
Colour Breakdown:Midnight Gleam: semi-opaque, creamy. Buildable colour to full coverage, can feather lightly into lines because of it’s consistency. Primer or lip liner is recommended. I’m a fan of this shade, the photos don’t do it justice. It’s actually a lot darker.
Gilded Velvet: opaque, pearl/frost like finish, creamy.
Aurora Rose: opaque, high pearl creamy finish. This look is very pearl/frost, and can appear sheer under flash lighting.
Sparkling Sable: opaque, pearl/frost like finish, creamy. Another shade that can appear sheer under flash lighting.
Sienna Sparkle: semi-opaque/sheer, creamy. Another shade that is fully buildable. Also another favourite for me.
Berry Glitz: semi opaque/sheer, creamy. For those wanted lighter, more buildable colour this is a shade for you. Beautiful and sheer to full.
Pink Papparrazi: opaque, creamy. I call this one Barbie pink, but not in a bad way. Great for a bold, in your face, pink. I really love this shade.
Brilliant Ruby: opaque, creamy. This is my absolute favourite from this range. It gives an immediate pop of bright colour. It is a very bright, almost cherry/strawberry, red.
Rogue Luxury: opaque, creamy. This is a darker, more classic shade of red. Something for anyone who doesn’t like bright reds, but still wants a classic.
Crimson Twilight: opaque, creamy. The darkest of their reds, this is a very deep red.
Closest True Colour Match (below)
Final Verdict:
A lovely opaque finish, with a range of colours to suit all. Overall im in love with Brilliant Ruby and Sienna Sparkle. I can’t go past a brilliant red and beautiful nude. I also really liked Midnight Gleam, it’s completely out of my comfort zone, but perfect for anyone wanting dark lips. You just don’t see many dark lippies around, so this is a good find. And just in time for Halloween too. 🙂
One tiny complaint I have, was the amount of shimmer left behind when I removed the lipstick. It was very minimal, but after testing all ten shades, I was left looking a lot like a disco ball with no disco. But, unless your going to be wearing industrial amounts of this lipstick, I doubt it will be a problem for you.
Would I consider buying again? Yes.

Wow – you must have put an awful lot of work into this post. They all suit you too. I shall look out for these when I next get my Avon. Its great to be able to refer to this as I find the catalogues splat thing does not represent the true colour.

I’ve had the same complaint for years, the colours just never matched the catalogue. It’s a big reason why I did the Avon swatches in the first place. They’re all really nice, the brown isn’t for me though. 🙂

Long time reader first time poster 🙂
I think this is my favourite post of yours (and the DIY makeup remover) These must be so new they are not even on the Avon Australia website!
I love this post because I always wonder what that shade will look like on!
Thank you!

Aww, well welcome and thank you so much for reading this long! You’ve made my night even better! I’m so happy you decided to post a comment, I’m always curious about quiet readers (I am one for many other blogs, haha).
They are fairly new, I spotted them in a recent catalogue and really wanted to try. The Avon website can be slow I find, but they are definitely available!
I’m so glad this was helpful, it’s a bit of a lucky dip buying without being able to try 🙂 xx

Always interesting to see Avon products from another country! They’re sometimes/usually the same, but packaged, named, and marketed differently. 🙂 I think your Ultra Rich Brilliance = our Mega Shine lippies. Just guessing though! And your lip swatches are amazing! 🙂

I know exactly what you mean. I’m always fascinated to see foreign magazines because the products are so different! I always find myself wishing we had the same range here 🙂
My guess is these will be a limited edition range, but time will tell.

You make me want every shade of this lipstick. Your images are incredible! A first glance I thought they were Burberry, I hope Avon has thanked you!

Aww thanks so much, I’m really getting the hang of my camera which is so exciting! HAHA! I haven’t had any feedback from Avon but, ahem, they’re welcome 😛 xx

I hope so too! Lipsticks are awesome. Maybe you can find a Avon rep who’s happy to give you a lip sample! 🙂

Beautiful shots! Surprisingly I have never owned an Avon lipstick yet! I have been getting more curious about the brand lately though, and I do love a good lipstick for sure, so I will have to check into what they have. Have you tried any of the Mark brand cosmetics? I also had to laugh (and feel sorry for you!) on the lipstick notations and having to re-do. I am still getting the order of things straight and the other day I had forgotten to shoot a certain angle of a product (an important one at that) before swatching the heck out of it and so now my photo will be tainted! *gasp*!) There are so many things to remember when it comes to notes, photos, swatches and the order of things it is humorous! Yet, oh so fun! 😀
I am going to sign up for your blog via email so I can be sure not to miss a post! (not sure why I just wrote that here — but I happened to see your follow by email in your footer and so now I’m just typing out loud I guess! 😉 ) Hope you are having a sunshine-y & beautiful day, Beautiful!! ❤

I have actually never tried Mark! Avon hasn’t seemed to released the brand here, no market I guess. Sad face, haha. I wish they did, I’d love to try some of their products.
Oh my gosh, I know what you mean about the missed shot. It’s a tough life, being a Besuty blogger. We can’t touch our precious buys before photographing them! 😀 Sometimes I can’t help myself. And as for the notes, I’ve learnt to keep them on my iPad, otherwise it becomes a game of hide and seek for all my notepads.
Thank you so much for subscribing beautiful! And thank you for stopping by to comment. Awesome day right back at you! xx

Thank you for all the clear swatches! As the colours in real life don’t tally with the ones in the brochure, this is of great help! Thanks a lot again!
Beautiful Kayekie said:
My pleasure Vicki! I felt the same way with the brochures. The lipsticks were so beautiful, and the catalogue swatches just weren’t doing them any justice 🙂
